We shared in worship this morning considering the theme “Dwell With Us”. In our focus moment, we identified God’s promises to us in John 14:23-29. There are many promises within those verses relating to the Holy Spirit. Mikal brought the using that scripture, along with Luke 4:18-19 and Joshua 24:14-15 to challenge us to take personally the promises and the call to action.
Just as the Spirit of the Lord was upon Jesus, it is also upon each one of us. Each of us has been anointed to bring good news to the poor. Each one of us has been sent to proclaim release the captive and recovery of sight to the blind. It is a choice to accept that anointing and take action on it. Mikal asked us to consider that choice and to choose to answer the call. That call is for each new generation in its own time and place.
