Matthew Chapter 2

Chapter two in Matthew reads of the Magi heading to find the Babe lying in the manager.  A story read or touched on every  Christmas season, the birth of the Babe lying in a manger. This story is filled with action and adventure. A story of life, a story of hope, and a story of refugees. Chapter two shows Herod in fury, it shows God touching the lives of others protecting Jesus as he grows, and it shows Jesus growing and developing into a new being. King Herod King Herod had a long history of being a blood thirsty killer on the loose.  When his brother-in-law began to become popular,… Read More

Why I follow Jesus

WHY I FOLLOW JESUS… BY MIKAL FARLEY, Indianapolis, Indiana, USA Because Love.  I follow Jesus because Hope.  Because it gives me Joy.  Because it’s the promise of Peace.  Because You are Worthy and that’s the story I want to share. I was fortunate to be born into a loving, caring family of believers.   My Mother and her family, my father’s family and my My Grandfather (Don Farley) and Grandmother (Nancy Farley) have been guides and mentors in my spiritual journey.  They helped lay the foundational roots of who I am today. I cannot say I am the same person today as I was yesterday or that my beliefs haven’t evolved.… Read More

If we are the body…

IF WE ARE THE BODY…  By MIKAL FARLEY Indianapolis, Indiana https://youngadultministries.wordpress.com/2012/08/30/if-we-are-the-body/ ) https://youngadultministries.wordpress.com/2012/08/30/if-we-are-the-body/ ) If we are the body, Why aren’t his arms reaching? Why aren’t his hands healing? Why aren’t his words teaching? Working in the medical field, I saw a lot of hurt every day. I saw people when they are experiencing the worst moments of their lives. I saw homeless people, sick and injured individuals, and people who seemingly had given up hope on life. At 14 years old I started working in the medical field on a fire department as an Explorer.  When we went to calls one of the most common questions was “Why? Why are you helping… Read More

Matthew Chapter 1

Mary pledged to wed Joseph, she found out she was pregnant – and Joseph doesn’t make a huge deal out of it but decided a divorce is in order.  An Angel came to Joseph – they were to remain married, and call the… Read More

We met considering the theme “Your Sins are Forgiven” and Takesha G. brought our message.  In addition to the focus scripture from Luke 7:36-50, Jesus Anointed by a Sinful Woman 36 When one of the Pharisees invited Jesus to have dinner with him, he went to the Pharisee’s house and reclined at the table. 37 A woman in that town who lived a sinful life learned that Jesus was eating at the Pharisee’s house, so she came there with an alabaster jar of perfume. 38 As she stood behind him at his feet weeping, she began to wet his feet with her tears.
