Experience God’s Love

By Alisha Bauman-Farley (Indianapolis, Indiana) I have a three year old daughter who loves making friends. Every day she asks to go play on the playground so she can see her “friends”. When she says this, she means anyone who might be walking around outside. She simply wants to be around people. The other day she sat on the top of the slide all alone. Nearby a group of kids, who I assume were siblings, were chasing the oldest that was riding a bike. My daughter sat in silence, her eyes locked on their every movement. Not one of them came over to play. My daughter will be an only… Read More

Our Identity and Calling: The Key to Our Future

I want to repeat the call that our Mission Center just posted to our social media pages because it highlights our calling as a congregation.  Our Congregation isn’t secluded; we’re in the middle of a neighborhood.  Are we embracing the fulness of our name?  Where is God calling us?  as an individual? as a family member? as a member of the community? as a congregation?  as a mission center?  Where are we being called? Where are we being lead? “Community of Christ,” your name, given as a divine blessing, is your identity and calling. If you will discern and embrace its full meaning, you will not only discover your future,… Read More

A Lesson in Patience

A Lesson in Patience Originally Published in the 12/13/2013 Herald  Connect | Engage | Inspire Herald Magazine https://heraldmagazine.wordpress.com/2013/12/13/a-lesson-in-patience/ By Alisha Bauman, Indianapolis, Indiana, USA One night my (then) fiancé and I decided to order a pizza. After waiting the amount of time we were told it should take, I drove over to pick it up. The moment I walked in I realized they were super busy. The staff told me it would be a few more minutes. An older man who had just ordered his pizza turned to me and asked if he could use my phone. He needed to tell his wife when he would be home with food. I… Read More

Passion in Ministry

A Testimony – Alisha Bauman Fear holds us captive, hindering our first steps toward living by Christ’s example. Fear is our greatest foe. Fear of failure to open ourselves to God’s directions. Fear of being too tired from every day life. Fear of being able to keep meeting the needs of the congregation. And fear of the unknown. – Alisha Bauman, Teamwork Overcomes Fear, Herald Vol.157 No.8, p 31

Treated Like Family

Treated Like Family By James Stytle, Crawfordsville, Indiana, USA I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. At the General Conference in October 2015, an LDS apostle shared a story about the beauty he saw at a Jewish service. I decided I would visit another church to see what it was like. I chose the Community of Christ congregation in Indianapolis, Indiana. I really enjoyed my visit, and I have been attending there since November 2015. I invited my wife to the Christmas Eve service with me, and she has attended with me since then. We also spent a weekend at the Kentucky-Indiana USA Mission… Read More

Special Offerings

As a faith Community, we believe in contributing to those in need.  We hold special offerings for Camps, Community Events, and Charitable Organizations. We are currently saving up for Outreach International.   Year to date, we have raised 94% of our goal for the Outreach International.  Great job!  Keep saving to share on December 20th.  If we raise more than what is needed for the well, we’ll be able to assist with other items that are needed.  How exciting is that?  Click here to see what we are working toward http://outreach-international.org/shop/index.php/water-well.html and look at other items that we can provide with our offering. In fact, if you are looking for Christmas gifts for… Read More

Baptism Celebration

We had a wonderful celebration this morning as we shared in the baptism and confirmation of Noah Rugg.  Grandma Cindy brought the message and likened being baptized to joining Jesus’ team.  It was a great way for the kids to understand what it means to be baptized and really for all of us adults to think about it in a new way.  Noah was baptized by his father, Justin and confirmed by Justin and Grandpa Bob.
