I was Blind and Now I See

John 9 New International Version (NIV) Jesus Heals a Man Born Blind 9 As he went along, he saw a man blind from birth. 2 His disciples asked him, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?” 3 “Neither this man nor his parents sinned,” said Jesus, “but this happened so that the works of God might be displayed in him. 4 As long as it is day, we must do the works of him who sent me. Night is coming, when no one can work. 5 While I am in the world, I am the light of the world.” 6 After saying this, he spit on the ground, made some mud… Read More

Come, Drink Living Water

John 4:5-42New International Version (NIV) 5 So he came to a town in Samaria called Sychar, near the plot of ground Jacob had given to his son Joseph. 6 Jacob’s well was there, and Jesus, tired as he was from the journey, sat down by the well. It was about noon. 7 When a Samaritan woman came to draw water, Jesus said to her, “Will you give me a drink?” 8 (His disciples had gone into the town to buy food.) 9 The Samaritan woman said to him, “You are a Jew and I am a Samaritan woman. How can you ask me for a drink?” (For Jews do not associate with Samaritans.[a]) 10 Jesus answered… Read More

[10-16-2016] Do Not Lose Heart

We were blessed today to having Terry Meloan from Ft. Wayne with us bringing our message.  Today’s theme was “Do Not Lose Heart” and was based upon Luke 18:1-8.  Terry reminded us that even the most seemingly insignificant person can make a different.  He challenged us to pray consistently, be persistent and be courageous.  There are lots of opportunities to help right injustices if we open our eyes to see and follow his challenges.

[10-9-2016] Be Grateful

We gathered in worship this morning considering the theme “Be Grateful”.  A children’s story was shared which gave a lesson about saying “thank you”.   There are many people to be grateful to and many things to be grateful for.  Have you said “thank you” lately?  We also talked about responding to blessings by “paying it forward” to others.  From Living Life as a Thank You, “Select someone who needs a gesture of kindness or something kind that someone once gave to you.  With gratitude for what was given to you, reach out and give back.  It can be a simple gesture, like sending a card.  Or calling someone who is sick… Read More

[06/12/2016] Your Sins are Forgiven

We met considering the theme “Your Sins are Forgiven” and Takesha G. brought our message.  In addition to the focus scripture from Luke 7:36-50, Jesus Anointed by a Sinful Woman 36 When one of the Pharisees invited Jesus to have dinner with him, he went to the Pharisee’s house and reclined at the table. 37 A woman in that town who lived a sinful life learned that Jesus was eating at the Pharisee’s house, so she came there with an alabaster jar of perfume. 38 As she stood behind him at his feet weeping, she began to wet his feet with her tears. Then she wiped them with her hair, kissed them and poured perfume… Read More

[06/05/2016] Reach Out in Compassion (Video Included)

We thought we’d be small in number today, but were pleasantly surprised to have 28 in attendance!  We even had to prepare more communion cups while we were listening to the message of the day.  Our theme for today was “Reach Out in Compassion.”   For our message, we watched a 15-minute video entitled “An Invitation to Breakfast” by Rob Bordowski of the World Church.  The message was good, reminding us to be prepared to bless others every day.

[05-29-16] Recognize Faith, Wherever It is Found

Our theme today was ‘Recognize Faith, Wherever It is Found.’  Interesting theme isn’t it?  Our speaker, Justin R., brought the scripture, Luke 7:1-10, into our present day world. Explaining that although most of us do not have servants the message is really about the ‘worth of all persons’.  He reminded us our faith is a powerful thing, if we want it to be.  It is up to us to demonstrate our faith by ‘letting go and letting God’.

[5-15-2016] God’s Spirit Poured Out

We met on Pentecost Sunday to consider the theme “God’s Spirit Poured Out”.  We were blessed to have Marilee M. bring out message.  Marilee reminded us that God’s Spirit is just as present with us today as it was over 2000 years ago.  She urged us to recognize God’s presence in our everyday lives and to “move in deeper.”  We do that by listening to where God is leading us and preparing ourselves to move out in faith.  We’re not asked to trust ourselves and our own abilities, but rather to trust God and where God is leading us.  There are no limits to what we can accomplish with God… Read More
