We shared in worship this morning considering the theme “Go, Invite People to Christ.”
2 Corinthians 13:11-13
New International Version (NIV)Final Greetings
11 Finally, brothers and sisters, rejoice! Strive for full restoration, encourage one another, be of one mind, live in peace. And the God of love and peace will be with you.
12 Greet one another with a holy kiss. 13 All God’s people here send their greetings.
Jami S. presided and brought the focus moment “Stop and Go Invitation”.
“Why do we give people invitations?”
Invitations are usually sent asking people to attend something special. What are some words we use when we invite people?
Matthew 28:16-20
New International Version (NIV)The Great Commission
16 Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. 17 When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted.18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
Four little helpers passed out an “invitation” to each person. The invitation said “You Are Invited to Christ.” The congregation discussed how we might “invite” others to walk with Christ. The message was brought via video by Apostle Ron Harmon.
With whom will you share your invitation with this week?
“God, where will your Spirit lead today? Help me be fully awake and ready to respond. Grant me the courage to risk something new and become a blessing of your love and peace. Amen.”
God – We are thankful for our congregation that came together this morning to praise You for the gift of the Holy Spirit which dwelt among us. We know that you walk with us daily. Help us to always be prepared to Invite Others to Christ. We pray this in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
