This past week was the third Sunday of Advent and our focus was joy. Justin brought our message “Proclaim the Good News”. He brought the scripture into modern day images for us and related the role of John the Baptist as a “bull-dozer” for Christ. Preparing the way and softening people’s hearts so that they would be receptive to Christ’s message. Perhaps we have opportunities to do that too? Justin shared from the words of counsel given to the church in 2013:
Oneness and equality in Christ do not mean uniformity. They mean unity in diversity and relating in Christ-like love to the circumstances of others as if they were one’s own. They also mean full opportunity for people to experience human worth and related rights, including expressing God-given giftedness through the church community.
